Planned Building Wiring Upgrades - Buildings 255 & 460, December 27-30, 2025

Planned building wiring upgrades scheduled to take place in Building 255 (First Floor Commons) and Building 460 (Offices) during the upcoming academic winter break from December 27-30, 2025.

These IT network wiring upgrades are part of an ongoing effort to improve network reliability, performance, and overall access for both faculty and students. The existing building wiring in these locations has reached a point where it limits the quality and consistency of connectivity. By completing this work during the break, we can minimize disruption to academic activities while ensuring the infrastructure is better aligned with current and future needs.

 Once completed, these improvements will:

Provide faster and more reliable wired and wireless network access

Support modern teaching, learning, and research requirements

Improve overall network stability and reduce service interruptions

Impact:

Electrical workers will be working the areas of Building 255 on the first floor and may require some work in the network closet on the 2nd floor.

They will also be working on the 3rd floor of B460 in the offices area (back hallway).

The wireless network in B460 3rd floor may be temporarily unavailable or have reduced signal as the workers power down the network on the 3rd floor to re-configure the network closet.

All of this related work may be loud as it is to be preformed during the daytime.

If you have any questions or foresee scheduling or access considerations during the winter break in these areas we should be aware of, please let us know. We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping improve the learning and working environment within these buildings.
