Fire alarm systems at the following buildings will be inspected and tested, including testing of installed speakers, fire suppression sprinkler systems and alarm bells.
Date: June 11 - August 28, 2026 - (between the hours of 8am-4pm)
Technicians will remain at the fire alarm panels in each building throughout the duration of the testing. In the event of an actual emergency, they will inform emergency services and building occupants.

Details:
- Life safety systems inspection and testing work will involve inspection and testing of all related devices and control systems, which will include testing of fire alarm bells and speakers.
- Maintenance and repair work, where needed, will ensue at a later date, with notices issued in advance to occupants of affected Buildings.
Special Instructions:
- Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. personnel will be entering various areas within VIU Buildings for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance work, and will maintain the security of these spaces during their work.
- The work will be done in accordance with the BC Fire Code and the National Building Code, as well as to ASTTBC Standards.
- Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. personnel will be wearing uniforms and will carry personal identification tags.
